- We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your language, and store your cookie preferences.
- Non-essential cookies (analytics) are NOT set until you give explicit consent.
- We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or Google Analytics.
- Third-party cookies come only from auth providers (Google, GitHub) and Stripe.
- We respect Do Not Track browser signals.
- You can manage all cookie preferences at any time in your browser or our settings.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Foretide uses cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure, and improve our website and platform.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
Essential for the website to function: (a) session cookies for authentication, (b) language preference cookies, (c) security tokens (CSRF), and (d) a consent preference cookie to remember your cookie choices. These cannot be disabled as the Service requires them to function.
3. Analytics cookies
We use privacy-respecting, self-hosted analytics that do not create user profiles across websites. Analytics cookies are NOT set by default — we request your explicit consent before enabling them. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking service.
4. Functional cookies
These remember preferences such as dark/light mode and dismissed onboarding elements. They require your consent and enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary.
5. Third-party cookies
We do not sell data to third parties or use advertising cookies. Third-party cookies may be set by: authentication providers (Google, GitHub) when you sign in with their services, and our payment processor (Stripe) during checkout. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.
6. Consent and management
When you first visit Foretide, we show a consent banner allowing you to: accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise which categories to enable. You can change preferences at any time in Settings > Privacy. If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal, we respect it by not setting analytics cookies.
7. Cookie retention
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Consent preference cookie: 12 months. Language preference: 12 months. Authentication tokens: expire per your session settings. Analytics cookies (if consented): 30 days.
